

The Callaway Group is an international management consultancy headquartered in Chicago, USA, with offices in Africa and an affiliate in China. We work primarily, but not exclusively, with leaders and management teams from large organizations in the healthcare delivery sector and with other knowledge-based human-service organizations and educational institutions. We also work with the owners/leaders of privately-owned companies of all sizes and industries.

The company was conceived in the spring of 1994 by founder Marguerite Callaway, who had already found success as a partner in several prestigious consulting firms. Through her decades of experience working closely with clients as an engagement partner, she realized that a new consulting model was needed for consistent project success. She believed this new model, in which outside advisors with relevant insight and expertise actively partner with leaders and teams inside the organization, would yield superior results in implementation and real knowledge transfer. However, faced with the daunting prospect of integrating this new idea into her current firm , she instead opted for a fresh start and set out to create her own company with this new collaborative model integrated into the company's core philosophy. This new company included strong professional partnerships with other organizations, as well as a staff profile of accomplished professionals, masters of their own individual areas of expertise, with passion for helping others achieve their goals. With this foundation, the Callaway Group was launched in June of 1996. Since that time, it has grown to include clients and collaborative partners in communities across the globe.
The Callaway Group started out by helping some of the most respected healthcare organizations in the United States further create strategic partnerships, develop integrated delivery systems, and build internal leadership and management capacity. With time, our firm’s capabilities and reputation as a positive force for change grew. Over the next ten years, Ms. Callaway made an inspired observation: that the successes and failures of businesses worldwide significantly parallel the way natural biological systems thrive or fail. In 2006, Ms. Callaway brought her insights on this congruity together in the book The Energetics of Business™. This book has become an important practical resource for creating, growing, and re-energizing businesses of all sizes based on the application of Strategic Clarity, Operational Organization, and Effective Implementation.

Ms. Callaway is convinced that the most important aspect of business success is leadership. During her almost four decades of professional activity, she observed how some leaders fall short of their goals, despite favorable external conditions, a highly skilled workforce, and well-intentioned actions. Working closely with leaders and their teams, Ms. Callaway has developed insight into the often-unseen forces that create strategic blind spots, organizational misalignment, and disempowered workforces. Recognizing the pervasive need for more effective leaders in all companies, organizations, and communities, the Callaway Group has developed the Effective 21st Century Leadership™ framework as a practical, multi-step program to becoming a truly effective leader able to excel in today's ever-changing business world.
